The countdown to Christmas has begun and there are so many ways to celebrate here in the beautiful Lake District. We’ve put together a list of top festive activities for those of you who are thinking about staying with us over the season.
1. Windermere Christmas Celebration
Windermere Christmas Celebration has ran for the last two years, market goers can expect around 50 stalls offering locally produced gifts, treats and hot food. There will also be live music and street entertainment for the all the family to enjoy. The event takes place on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of December.

2. Keswick Victorian Fayre
This is a great excuse for a day trip to Keswick in the Northern Lakes, which is a beautiful scenic drive from Ambleside. You can enjoy Christmas shopping while supporting local charities. A mix of local and national charities have stalls offering a range of goods including crafts and cakes. If you’re planning on taking the whole family, There is a fun fair for children to enjoy with the opportunity to meet father Christmas and his reindeer.
3. Masons Arms Fantasy Festive Wine Evening
A popular festive activity in the Lake District is sitting by a warm comforting fire enjoying a refreshment or two in a country pub or inn. A great one to visit is the Mason Arms, at nearby Bowland Bridge. This year they are hosting a Festive Fantasy Wine Evening on the 23rd December, perfect for all all wine fans and enthusiasts.
