One of the best things about The Lake District is all the walks, and whether you like four hours of brutal uphill or something rather more leisurely there's something to suit any ability or preference.
Tarn Howes is a very popular spot all year round and it’s easy to see why, not only has it got spectacular scenery but its 1-2 hours of easy and enjoyable rambling.
The walk to Tarn Hows starts from the car park at Glen Mary Bridge. Before reaching Tarn Hows there is a short walk through Lane End Coppice and Harry Field Wood, the walk goes along a narrow path up some stunning waterfalls. It can be a bit slippy so take care! Arriving at Tarn Hows you will see the beautiful lake and can choose paths that do a circular route in both directions.
Don’t forget, after a lovely day out walking you can always pop into our sister hotel, The Regent, for a lovely home cooked meal.
